Government of gujarat, Department of tourism have developed more than 10 campsite(Eco-Tourism) place in jungles of Gujarat. Normally all these sites are surrounded with dense forest, hills, rivers, dams and lakes. Dhanpari eco tourism is one of them.

About Dhanpari

Dhanpari situated in dense forest of Jambughoda wildlife sanctuary in Panchmahal district of Gujarat(India). Campsite is surrounded by forest of Bamboo and other plant.Many wild animals are found but bear are mainly found in this forest also the home for the many birds. Campsite has 2 water reservoirs - Kada dam and Targol.

Preparation before visit

Best time to visit Dhanpari is Monsoon and Winter. There are 3 AC rooms (Rs. 1500/Day) and 10 Non - AC rooms(Rs. 500/Day). Tents are also available at Kada dam campsite which is only 500 mtr away from Dhanpari campsite but for food you need to come at Dhanpari. They are allowing one extra bed in room so basically 3 persons can stay in one room. There is no major deference except AC in room. I personally recommend Non - AC room. You need to book rooms in advance(1 week) through forest office in Baroda(0268-2425136). For Booking you need to call this number and confirm the availability, if rooms are available, Officer on duty will inform you deposit money to bank account(Bank Of Baroda). After sending the photos of receipt to officer on WhatApps, He will confirm your booking via same channel. You need to give basic personal details of visiting persons like name, age, address etc.

Reaching at Dhanpari

To reach Dhanpari you must have personal vehicle. From Ahmedabad, It is 240 Km away via Ahmedabad - Baroda Express Highway. Pavagadh will be on the way. After Pavagadh, You will love to drive. There will be lots of greenery around the road.

If you are hungry after Baroda, Hotel Relish (Pure Veg) will be good place to stop. Idli - Sambhar was just Awesome. Traffic is medium but there are some sharp turn so be careful while driving. There are some accident prone zone due to wild animals so be vigilant during driving. Before reaching at Dhanpari, Make sure that you have adequate of food/milk if you don't desi food.(Campsite peoples are providing tasty food for all three time)

Living @ Dhanpari

You need to reach there by 10:00 AM, First of all you need to report at office to confirm your booking and check-in. Also you have to confirm them about you food(Charges for dinner and lunch - Rs. 120/plate -Unlimited) so that they can prepare food accordingly. Food will be very simple with less spices. In the morning, they will serve tea and breakfast.You will rarely find mobile coverage there.(This is what you want...!). There is excellent central seating area covered with Bamboo plants. There is children play area near parking place. You may enjoy at campsite up to your lunch is being prepared. lunch is prepared by local laddies.

After taking lunch , You can visit Kada dam site which is hardly 500mtr away through beautiful forest road. You can go there by car. There is a beautiful lake( May be back water of dam, I don't know exactly). You will be emerged in the nature, Not a single artificial sound, everywhere vocal of beautiful birds. For birds watcher Kada dam is a must go place specially in morning and evening.

Precaution @ Dhanpari

as I have already mention that Dhanpari is the area of Jambughoda wild life sanctuary you need to be very careful. Following precaution to be taken.

Don't wandering in the early morning and night without informing forest official.
Don't go in the water in Kada dam site , it is home for crocodile.
There are 4 major toxic snake in India, All are found in this sanctuary.
Don't eat leaf or fruit from unknown plants.

You may find lots of sign board of forest department containing instruction, You must follow all these rules for safety of you and wild animals.

Just spend there 2-3 days to relaxed from hectic life. Have a quiet conversion with love once. it assure you quality time spent at Dhanpari.
